- Target COMpiler by Tom Zimmer
TCOM is a public domain 8086 Forth compiler for DOS. It is easy
to use and fairly well documented with source files and lot's of
samples. Very nice compiler to use for small Forth programs; or even to
use as an assembler compiler.
TCOM generates only
.COM files and has
maximum of 64kB generated code. In this Windows era this may seem
veeery small, but in DOS it is huge amount of compiled Forth code.
(And, if you still need more, there is always possibility to split
the program into overlays and use all memory DOS gives you.)
